Draw the Body of the Ice Dragon
The new lines for each step are indicated in red , so you know exactly what to draw next. Take your time and be careful, because in the end, it will be your very own ice dragon! When you're starting out, don't press too hard with your pencil. Begin with soft, delicate strokes.

Step 1 : Draw a circle on the right side of the paper to mark the front part of the ice dragon's body. First, make four small marks to indicate the height and width of the circle. Then, connect the marks with curved lines. If you're having trouble drawing the circle, trace the outer edge of a bottle cap, lid, or any other object with a circular edge.

Step 2 : On the left side, draw a smaller circle to guide the rear of the ice dragon's body. This circle should be about half the size of the first. The further apart they are, the longer the ice dragon's body will be.

Step 3 : Draw another circle in the upper right corner, which will serve as a guide for the ice dragon's head. This circle should be about a quarter the size of the first circle. Position this circle high enough so that the dragon ends up with a long neck.

Step 4 : On the right side of the ice dragon's head, draw a small arch that will serve as a guide for the snout. The larger this arch, the larger the snout will be. Make it slope downwards slightly.

Step 5 : Below the large circle on the right, draw a curved line to serve as a guide for the first front leg. The line should curve near the middle to indicate the joint and downwards for the foot. Draw a shorter line angled to the right to guide the other front leg of the ice dragon.

Step 6 : Draw another angled line below the left circle as a guide for the first hind leg. This line should be bent twice in the middle for the joints and once at the bottom for the ice dragon's leg. Add another wavy line to the right to guide the other hind leg.

Step 7 : Draw two curved lines to connect the head to the body and form the template for the neck. The left line should be very curved at the top. Use two lines to connect the first two circles and form the rest of the ice dragon's body.

Step 8 : Draw a long, curved line starting at the top left for the first part of the ice dragon's tail . The line should be arched, and its end should be below the marker for the hind legs. Draw the line lightly so it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. Draw another curve starting closer to the hind legs to complete the shape of the dragon's tail. The two lines should meet below the hind legs to form a pointed tip.

Step 9 : At the top of the very first circle, draw a long, diagonal line for the first part of the wing. At the top of this line, draw another fairly long line that curves to the left for the top of the wing. The longer these lines are, the larger the ice dragon's wings will be. Add another large curve in the middle to complete the wing template.
Draw the Ice Dragon's Head
We're done with the guidelines! From this point on, press harder with your pencil for a cleaner and more defined line.

Step 10 : Lightly draw a small oval circle inside the ice dragon's head, near the middle, for the eye. Once you have the right size and shape, draw a curved line at the top for the ice dragon's forehead. Darken the lower part of the eye to make it resemble a diamond. Above the eye, draw three pointed triangular shapes for the thick, spiky eyebrow . Draw another set of points on the right for the eyebrow on the other side of the head.

Step 11 : Darken the upper part of the bow and add a pointed shape along the edge of the snout to create the ice dragon's nose. Inside, below the eye and to the right, draw a small line for the nostril. Now, draw a line that extends towards the eye and has a sharp point above the nostril.

Step 12 : At the front of the mouth, draw a series of sharp lines for the ice dragon's teeth . The front part of the teeth should resemble the letter M. Add more pointed teeth on the left side, but follow the general shape of the snout. Draw a slanted line extending to the left to lengthen the mouth. On the far left, draw more pointed teeth for the rest of the dragon's teeth.

Step 13 : Under the front teeth, draw a small diamond to create a point on the chin . Shave the rest of the initial arc to create the ice dragon's lower jaw . Darken the line above the eyes to create the top of the head. Along this line, draw a series of triangles for more points. Don't make these points too big. Leave space on the sides for the dragon's horns.

Step 14 : Add the ice dragon's large horns to its head by drawing a curved line to the left of the eye for the base. Then, draw a long, wavy line that almost touches the tip of the wing in the upper left corner. Draw another wavy line at the bottom to complete the conical shape of the ice dragon's horn. Draw the horn on the other side in the same way. The tip of this horn should point in the opposite direction. The bottom of this horn will be hidden. Don't overlap the tips when you draw them.

Step 15 : Under the left horn, draw a large diamond shape to create another horn/spike along the jaw. Add another horn below this one to give the ice dragon more armor. Place another diamond at the bottom for the final spike.
Draw the Neck of the Ice Dragon

Step 16 : Darken the initial lines connecting the head to the body to create the ice dragon's neck . Draw a series of small triangular shapes along the left edge for the points of the ice dragon's neck. Draw a long vertical line below the head and down the middle of the neck for the separation of the dragon's scales. On the right side of the neck, draw a series of short horizontal lines for the plate armor.
Draw the Ice Dragon's Front Legs

Step 17 : Use the second line from the right as a guide to draw the ice dragon's first front leg . Follow the path of the template and lightly sketch the leg shape around it. Use curved lines when drawing the leg shape to emphasize the muscle structure . Start with a light sketch. Once you've found the right shape, darken the lines. On the left side, at the elbow joint, draw a small, diamond-shaped point. Below, along the outline, draw three small triangular shapes for the dragon's claws.

Step 18 : Draw the other front leg of the ice dragon on the right side in the same way. Trace the shape of the leg around the guide. Use curved lines for the muscles. In the bottom right corner, draw a few small triangular shapes for the ice dragon's claws . Add a few short, curved lines to the claws to create the ice dragon's toes.
Draw the Torso of the Ice Dragon

Step 19 : Darken the bottom right edge of the very first circle to create the ice dragon's chest . At the top of the torso, draw a triangle for the first armor plate . Below the triangle, draw a long, curved vertical line to divide the chest in half. Then draw a series of lines on each side that slope toward the middle to complete the armor plates.
Draw the Wings of the Ice Dragon

Step 20 : Use the angled line to the left of the neck as a guide to draw the first part of the ice dragon's wing . Follow the basic outline of the line, but make the shape thicker. Above the guide, draw a triangular shape for another peak. Continue making the shape thicker. On the left side, where the joint is, draw another small triangle to form another peak. On the right side, draw a curved vertical line to add some of the ice dragon's skin to the wing.

Step 21 : Darken the long, curved lines on the left for the rest of the ice dragon's first wing. At the end of each line, draw a small triangle, as for the points. Between the two points, draw a third point. Keep the spacing between the points even. Connect the points with curved lines to form the edge of the ice dragon's wing.

Step 22 : Inside the wing, draw a line from the joint to the middle peak for added detail. Draw the lower edge of the wing using two curved lines. Add a peak here as well and draw a line inside the wing for added realism. Using a few curves, draw the visible part of the ice dragon's other wing above its head. Also draw a peak at the tip of this wing. Don't overlap the shapes on the head. 🐲
Draw the Ice Dragon's Hind Legs

Step 23 : Use the curve on the far left as a guide to draw the first hind leg of the ice dragon . Lightly sketch the leg around this guideline. Once you've established the correct shape, darken the lines. The lower part of the leg curves backward, so the upper shape slightly overlaps the middle section. As with the front legs, draw three small triangular shapes at the bottom for the claws. Add the dragon's toes as short curves above the claws and connect them to the rest of the leg. 🐉

Step 24 : Use the last line below the body as a sketch to draw the other hind leg. Draw the shape of the leg around the guideline. The upper part of the ice dragon's hind leg is not visible from this angle. Draw triangles, like claws, on the right end of the leg.
Draw the Ice Dragon's Tail

Step 25 : Darken the curves on the left side to create the shape of the tail. At the tip of the ice dragon's tail , draw a few small triangular shapes to form an arrowhead.

Step 26 : Draw a series of small triangular shapes along the top of the body for the spikes on the back. When you reach the curved section of the ice dragon's tail , start placing the spikes inside and making them thinner. As you approach the tip of the tail, bring the spikes back to the top and make them thicker. Using a series of short lines, draw the remaining scales along the underside of the ice dragon's body.

Step 27 : Trace over the lines of the final sketch with a pen, marker, or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when inking to avoid any accidents. After inking, erase all pencil marks with an eraser for a cleaner drawing.
Color the Ice Dragon

Step 28 : Color your ice dragon drawing 🎨! If you don't want an ice dragon, you can color your drawing any other color. Color lightly at first. Gradually, make your color darker by pressing harder on your pencil.
Use blue as the base for the dragon's body. Use a little dark blue all over the body to create shadows and give the figure more volume. Now, use light blue for the plate armor at the bottom and the inner wing. Using dark blue, draw a few lines along the side of the dragon's armor to make it reflective. Use mostly light blue with a little dark blue for the remaining spikes and horns. Use lines and striations inside the shapes to give them an icy look . Draw a shadow at the bottom using gray and blue so the dragon doesn't look like it's floating. 🐉
